The War that Never Was…. a guy trolled both sides in the ISIS v Iraq war, and created a fake war that other people joined in on spreading disinfo. But, not just that….
THIS. People are actively trying to make the internet unusable.
To create an attack that never happened, claim victory for people that never claimed victory, make a recruitment video out of the glorious win… is wild. And all from Russia with fictional love.
It’s no longer just the lens or filter of the ethics through the photographer, the journalist, nor just the editor, nor just algorithms.
There are whole contingents backed my governments that want to spread so much disinfo you can’t tell what’s real.
That 2nd story is bonkers. People want to make the internet unusable, and spread distrust. Hopefully a silver lining is skepticism, when the whole internet goes down.
I know they say smart people have an interest in not letting that happen, but they keep getting hacked and cracked.
